Running a Household

This week I was listening to Dave Ramsey – something I really should be doing more. One of the callers talked about teaching her niece to run a household – which got me to thinking about jobs and careers. These past few months that I’ve been job hunting have been bittersweet. I am excited about going back to work but also sad that my stay at home days will be over.

I always knew that the work I did each day mattered – someone has to run the house. Until this caller said those words – it never hit me that it’s a job, and I like my job. Staying at home was always temporary to me. Now I’m feeling that I want it to be more but financially I’m not sure that can happen. So I’ve decided for right now I will embrace running our household and also work towards making money at home. That means stepping up my eBay game and freelance writing. I just have to remind myself that right now I have the best job I’ve ever had and I need to work to keep it.

So this week I’m working on running our household more efficiently. It’s time to clear the clutter and make it easier to do the things we need to do. Writing has become especially difficult but blogging really helps. If I can work through this writing block, then hopefully I can run our household full-time for a while.
